A woman filed a lawsuit against the Skokie Police Department after she sustained several facial bone injuries when an officer smashed her head into a jail cell bench.
47-year old Cassandra Feuerstein of Chicago was being led out of her jail cell when Officer Michael Hart threw her back inside so forcefully, she slammed face-first into the cement bench, according to NBC Chicago.
Feuerstein claims the assault caused several broken facial bones. A surveillance video captured the incident, which occurred March of this year.
Feuerstein was incarcerated for a DUI charge.
The Skokie Police Department declined to comment on the case.
