Two girls, ages 11 and 12, were injured Friday night when a car struck the minibike they were riding.
According to police officials, the girls were riding the minibike in Kankakee when they were struck by a Kia Elantra that was traveling in the same direction.
After the collision, the 12-year-old girl who was driving the minibike was transported to Riverside Medical Center to be treated, and her 11-year-old passenger was taken to Provena St. Mary’s Hospital. The driver of the Kia stated that he could not see the girls on the minibike because it did not have reflectors or lights.
