57-year-old Bobby Cannon was hospitalized at Carle Hospital in Urbana after his semi-truck turned over Wednesday morning at 9 a.m., according to Illinois State Police at Pesotum.
Cannon was driving on the ramp between westbound I-74 and southbound I-57 when the truck accident occurred after his rig turned over into a ditch and trapped him in the cab of his vehicle. The emergency teams that responded to the accident had to cut him out of the cab before being able to transport him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police issued a ticket to Cannon for failing to slow down in order to avoid having an accident.
