Rockford Mayor involved in four-car accident

The mayor of Rockford was involved in a four-car accident on Illinois 173 earlier this week.

The mayor was traveling with his family around 4 p.m. when he was rear-ended by another vehicle when he was stopped at a stop light. The driver of Dodge Neon failed to reduce his speed when he approached the light and hit the back of the mayor’s car.

This collision then causes a chain reaction wreck between two others car. The driver of the Dodge was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and cited in the accident as well as the driver of the third vehicle who left the scene after the collision.
