One person was injured as a result of a semitrailer rollover accident that occurred on Illinois Route 1.
According to officials, the accident occurred as the driver of a semitrailer was traveling down the roadway and his truck veered off of the side of the road. In an effort to get the truck back on the road, he overcorrected the vehicle causing it to lose control and flip over.
The truck was hauling gasoline at the time, but it did not spill on the road, but crews came to move the gasoline to another truck. The highway was closed for 11 hours while crews cleaned up. The driver was transported to Riverside Medical Center and was also cited for improper lane usage.
