A man died after crashing his van into a median on I-74 near Danville on Wednesday, August 14th, 2013. The man was said to have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing him to enter the median and lose control of his vehicle.
Two men were thrown from the van and another had to be cut from the vehicle. Four other men from Crawfordsville were also injured as a result of the accident. Both helicopters and ambulances were used to transport the victims of the crash to the Carle Foundation Hospital. Unfortunately, the driver of the van was pronounced dead about 90 minutes after sustaining injuries in the accident. According to reports, none of the van’s passengers were wearing seat belts, and were issued tickets for not doing so.
