On Tuesday, May 20 a drunk driver on Interstate 74 caused an accident which resulted in the death of Frank Patchen of Isanti, Minnesota.
Patchen, 83, was eastbound on I-74 around 9:30 p.m. when another vehicle struck his car from behind, causing both cars to veer off of the road. Both drivers were transported to the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana where Patchen was pronounced dead about one hour after the accident occured.
The intoxicated driver was reportedly in stable condition after the accident. The surviving driver’s identity has not yet been made available to any media outlets.
