Smith Dairy Products Company has announced the recall of a line of smoothies after it was found that they could cause a deadly reaction in consumers.
The f’real brand Strawberry Banana Smoothies may contained peanuts that are not declared on the ingredients list. Roughly 2 percent of Americans have this allergen and they could suffer life-threatening reactions if they eat the smoothie.
The problem was discovered during a routine comparison of flavors. The recalled product was distributed in 33 different states including Arkansas, California, Illinois and Kansas.
