Five people were taken to the Carle Foundation hospital after a truck accident occurred Friday afternoon.
According to officials, the accident occurred in the rural areas of Murdock when a 38-year-old truck driver lost control of the vehicle while traveling west bound. The truck then jack-knifed across the road and spun out of control.
Police officials have stated that the weather conditions at the time could have caused the crash. The truck then crossed the center line causing a collision with an eastbound vehicle.
The collision caused the tractor-trailer to tip on the other vehicle. The driver of this car and the four passengers inside were all transported to the hospital. There have not been any updates on the victim’s conditions at this time.
