Yesterday afternoon, a two-vehicle car accident involving a Plymouth van and a Chevy TrailBlazer left two injured in Champaign County. The accident took place on I-74 when the driver of the van, Robbie Kruse, attempted to make a U-turn from the right lane of traffic. When her van turned in front of Kathleen Ann King Thorius’ TrailBlazer, which was traveling westbound in the left lane, the TrailBlazer hit the driver’s side of Kruse’s vehicle.
The impact caused Kruse’s van to flip onto its passenger side. Fortunately, Kruse and a 14-year-old passenger were able to get out of the vehicle with non-life threatening injuries and Thorius and her two passengers were uninjured. Although no serious injuries were reported, police continue to investigate the accident and said possible charges are pending.
