Two dump trucks collided in western Piatt County on Monday, June 25, around 5:20 pm. The crash occurred on the Macon-Piatt county line at Northeast County Line Road on Illinois Route 105. One of the trucks, heading northbound, ran a stop sign and collided with the other truck, driving west, on the driver’s side.
The two men killed were Russell Foster, 53, of Decatur, and Kenneth Allen, 65, of Monticello. Mr. Allen was a passenger in the truck that ran the stop sign, and Mr. Foster was the driver of the other dump truck. Both men died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation, so the name of the driver of the truck that ran the stop sign has not been released.
