A man from Chicago was killed after he was struck and killed by car while he was standing outside of his car on Interstate 57.
According to Illinois State Police, the pedestrian accident occurred as the 48-year-old man was standing next to his vehicle on the side of the road when he was struck by a car attempting to avoid another collision.
A Toyota Camry sideswiped a tour bus and came to a stop on the side of the road. A second car managed to avoid this collision and also came to a stop on the shoulder of the road.
A third vehicle then T-boned the second vehicle, which caused it to collide with the first vehicle and eventually collide into the man on the side of the road. He was killed due to injuries sustained.
Our deepest condolences are with the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
